EndoSign® in action
The EndoSign® testing and diagnostic process has been designed for ease of administration and delivery.
Administering the test
The procedure can be completed in less than 10 minutes. There is no need for sedation, although some patients may be offered a local anaesthetic spray to alleviate any discomfort.
The EndoSign® capsule sponge consists of an applicator housing a small capsule similar in size to a vitamin pill. The capsule contains a sponge attached to pre-bunched surgical thread to allow for quick and simple administration.
Place the capsule and thread into the patient’s mouth using the applicator. The patient swallows the capsule with a drink of water. The capsule and thread should be swallowed completely.
The capsule dissolves in the stomach, releasing the sponge. This takes 7 minutes.
As the sponge is retrieved by gently and continuously pulling the thread, it collects cells from the entire length of the oesophagus.
Place the retrieved sponge into the storage pot provided as part of the cell preservation kit and complete the appropriate requisition form. Then send the preservation pot to Cyted for biomarker analysis. Packaging and courier collection are provided by Cyted and included in the service.
A comprehensive and easy-to-interpret diagnostic report will be sent to you, usually within 14 days.
